When planning a marriage ceremony in Asia there are many different events that need to be performed in order that the couple to marry. While Thai culture isn’t as heavily influenced by simply western traditions as it was previously, there are still various traditional customs to become followed and noticed on holiday seasons like a wedding ceremony.

One of the most important areas of a thai wedding may be the ceremony known as the khan maak. During this wedding ceremony the groom and his relatives will shape a procession to take trays (khanhmaak) filled with offerings to the bride’s home. The offerings are usually gold coins, betel nuts, rice, incense sticks and candles, flowers, and various other auspicious items which signify absolutely adore, prosperity, male fertility, and longevity. The khan maak can be carried to the bride’s home with a music and move that portrays the groom’s generosity.

As soon as the khan maak has been taken to the bride’s residence, the parents of the groom and bride will meet in order to discuss how much of the dowry shall be paid. This is referred to as sin sod and it could be similar to what would be called a dowry in the west. After the dowry is decided, the staff of the soon-to-be husband and star of the wedding will have the monks perform a blessing to ensure that their marital life will be full of love and happiness.

During this wedding ceremony the groom’s family can provide a reddish colored cloth to the bride’s mom to ornament above her human body and mind. Then the bridegroom and bride will hold hands and be registered with together with a thread that is certainly looped around both of their brain. This is to signify that they are signing up for families jointly but stay independent persons as well.

Following this wedding service, the parents of your groom and bride will then prepare a dish of popped rice, beans, sesame seeds, paddies, blossoms, and a red textile that represents their dowry. The groom will also help to make merit intended for his forefathers by offering money and foodstuff towards the monks that will be attending the wedding ceremony. The family of the soon-to-be husband will also function a ritual referred to as sao yang where they are going to release attentive animals and give cash to monks in honor of their ancestors.

On the day for the wedding party, the few will wear a regular Thai clothing and the feast day will begin with a prayer. The couple will exchange rings and the groom is going to place a garland around his bride’s neck. The family and friends will then ribbon and bow to the bride and groom and compliment them on the wedding. After this, there will be the usual incidents at a wedding reception such as toasting the pair, cutting the cake and tossing the bouquet.
