Skills shared: Anita’s Story

“Back in April I volunteered for the Lullaby Trust to be there at the London Marathon to massage some of their runners, who themselves volunteered to run the marathon to raise awareness and funds for infant bereavement. It was a magical day to be part of the team to just give a little something back to those that also wanted to help others. We did marathon massages for tired muscles throughout the day. It really was amazing and exhilarating for both runners and therapists.”

Skills gained: Amanda’s Story

“I have been volunteering for a year and a half at WeForGood coffee shop as a Kitchen Assistant for two shifts a week. It's a great place where I have made friends and learnt new skills. I was also inspired to study a food hygiene course and a barista course in my spare time. We have had volunteer social get-togethers which have been at the Kensington Roof Gardens for lunch and a visit to the BBC Good Food Show in London. I have been supported by my manager and other staff which has helped me with my confidence.”
